Moons out, Goons out.

Got a bunch of randomness done this weekend and I had a chance to finish my first Scion.  I feel like something is missing. Probably going to repaint his beret tan in order to match the rest of the army. Note: I paint very little metalics on the models in this army in effort to promote the idea these guys are trying to be a little more tactical with their gear. Of course that idea is squashed when this dude powers up that plasma pistol, as if his red Aquillas weren't enough.

These Goon Boy Night Hunters will be flying low and fast, inserting deep, and pounding hard. ; )
Don't let your units be caught in the open or unaware, because our Ops are way, way blacker than yours...

Riding OG in the Chimera

So I've actually had this Chimera a third of the way painted for over a year now just never got around to finishing it due to other projects. But now my reinvigoration with the new AM codex this bad boy got a fresh coat and some new decals.
This will ferry around my old school storm trooper squad chalked full of goon boys ready to lay some havoc down onto whatever presents itself upon disembarktion of their beautiful chariot of death. Went with a kinda random paint scheme in attempt to make it look like ole boys did some custom work with the extra armor, maybe "acquired" it from someone else's Vic (which sometimes happens in the real military) OR maybe they just didn't give a shit and left them tan to make a statement to Sergeant Major that things don't always have to look uniform and pretty to work right. Plus they slapped some slick retro racing stripes on it cus it matches their sweet ass uniforms. This mentality of random paint schemes is going to frequent most of my AM army. "Wear what you want how you want cus quiet frankly nobody, not even Yarrick himself, cares as long as you are merc'n some Orks in the face." Plus old Yarrick is gonna love that Hell's Angels skeleton on the front, it really screams "we ride Harley's when we aren't putting Chaos Demons to shame and making Space Marines jealous of our sweet rides and dope beards." Oh yeah and the OG tank commander up top riding hatch up on the battlefield, well, he's kinda like a Honey Badger, he don't give a shit.

Ride on playas, ride on.
Native,
 out.

The New Taurox

The new kit from GW took a little time for me to warm up to but I finally came around after I found a couple of good color schemes. I really enjoyed painting this model. As with the rest of my guard army (which I'll soon post some pics of) I went with a semi WW1 German color scheme.  I think it turned out nice and with the exception of dressing up the rear comms light I'm happy with it. Hopefully it will ferry some storm troopers safely across the board or at least look good trying.

Intro and Current State of Affairs

Greetings, first off welcome to my little corner of the blog materium. Hopefully over time I can provide you, the reader, with a little incite, inspiration, and/or entertainment through my post, most of which will detail one of my favorite hobbies and pastimes, tabletop gaming. It is an immensive, imaginative, and, at times, a very in depth hobby which fills me with a sense of accomplishment and imagination.  Plus it keeps me entertained in times of prolonged and monotonous periods of boredom which sometimes occur in my job. Hence my very first post:So here I am in the field training again. Nearing the end of my military career I find myself doing less and less of the more enjoyable things I used to do in the Army. Even so I'm content with passing the time reading and catching up on my favorite series, The Horus Heresy. I've recently started going back and revisiting the books I skipped earlier in this series in order to try and catch the things I missed. Perfect example is held within the contents of "Mechanicum". Never as a 12 year old kid pouring over the little fluff and background I had back in the 2nd edition Rulebooks of Warhammer 40k would I have thought that someday I'd be reading about (spoiler alert) the details of the creation of such things as the golden throne. Good read and great way to lose yourself on a 12 hour shift.
